The old La Vi la Vella country house has the scent of the sea rising from the ocean on the morning breeze.

The coast has always reminded me of strong, alive colours: the crimson of natural dyes, the cobalt blue of the painted wall of the house, the deep green of the vegetation surrounding it, the reddish clay earth and the blue of the sea.

This farmhouse where we spent the summer was marvellous. The charming image of my grandfather dozing under the pine grove so as not to be woken up by the midday sun has remained in my mind.

Every morning, as we returned from the beach, we raided the kitchen, led by the enticing aromas of my grandmother’s cooking. I remember the cool sensation when we sat on the old stone bench covered with small crafted tiles. It seemed to have been there longer than anyone could remember.
